Bixel Exchange joins mitú for the culmination of the Delta Aeroméxico Accelerator
Bixel Exchange attended the mitú / Delta Aeroméxico Accelerator Wrap Party on Jan. 23. Accelerator students shared the short films they developed during the program around the theme, “If you could fly anywhere in the U.S. or Mexico, what story would you tell?” Melissa Carmona from our summer ACCELERATOR program with mitú showcased a powerful short film that shed light on mental illness through her travels to New Orleans to learn about brujería. #techLA #DigitalMedia

Friday, Startup LAunch Director Kat Yalung joined Coro Southern California for Technology x Democracy (#TxD2018), a one-day conference that explored civic engagement and the democratic process in the digital age. Kat spoke on the “Innovation for Good: Learning from Civic Tech Success” panel, along with Ev Boyle, LA-Tech.org; Rahul Sidhu, SPIDR Tech; Elizabeth Stewart, Civic Hall Labs; and Iván Ceja, UndocuMedia. Panelists discussed civic tech initiatives, diversity in tech and lessons learned from working to scale civic innovation in both the public and private sectors. Learn more about the event.
