CityGrows at SXSW Shark Tank
Startup LAunch company CityGrows was selected as one of seven finalists at the Civic I/O Mayor's Match Up, a special "Shark Tank" style local government-focused event taking place during this year’s SXSW. Sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the City of Austin and Amazon Web Services, pitchers competed for a share of $25,000.
CityGrows is a workflow and transparency platform for local governments, improving the experience of interacting with public services for constituents and government employees, while increasing public access to information about how government works. Their goal is to make interacting with your local government as easy as tracking a package online or ordering a pizza.

Tech Ed partner TechHire turns two!
This month, TechHire turns two! TechHire, an initiative powered by Opportunity@Work in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, is a nationwide, community-based movement that helps underrepresented and overlooked job seekers start technology careers.
Since its inception, the TechHire movement has grown from 21 pilot communities to a network of 1,300 employer partners, 237 educator partners and 72 TechHire communities across the country, collectively placing over 4,000 candidates in tech jobs.
