LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce today welcomed Kat Yalung as the new director of Bixel Exchange’s Startup Development Program – a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Bixel Exchange is the Chamber’s emerging technology center. In this role, Yalung will lead the development and implementation of Bixel Exchange’s core business advisory services, helping foster more than 200 tech startups each year.

She previously led strategic partnerships efforts for General Assembly’s Southern California region, where she built educational and marketing partnerships with startups, venture firms, public sector agencies and Fortune 500 companies.

“Kat is smart, connected and has extensive experience working with small business owners and tech founders,” said Sean Arian, vice president of Innovation & Emerging Technologies at the Chamber. “We couldn’t be more excited to have her lead this team.”

“Bixel Exchange serves a critical role in supporting our regional tech startup community,” said Pat Nye, regional director of the Los Angeles SBDC network. “We welcome Kat to our network and know that she will be an asset to the impressive team at Bixel Exchange.”

Yalung assumed the role of former director Kevin Lew, who will remain affiliated as a senior adviser to Bixel Exchange.
